The Avon Theatre was opened by 1931, the auditorium designed in an atmospheric style with a Spanish courtyard theme.
The theatre was built and run by the Blakeslee Family who lived in the apartment above the theatre until the 1970s.
Renovations were carried out in the summer of 1958. The theatre closed by 1973 and is now occupied by Hoffman’s Ben Franklin store.
