Overview

The theatre, reportedly built at a cost of $2 million, opened with the film Excess Baggage (1928) Link opens in new window starring William Haines and Josephine Dunn.

Spanish Baroque was the style used to describe the opulent Louisville Palace. The theatre was designed by John Eberson and first opened as the Loew’s and United Artists’ State Theatre in September 1928.

In 2005, Live Nation Entertainment purchased The Louisville Palace. Current seating capacity is 2,800.
