The Ritz Cinema was opened by the Associated British Cinemas (ABC) chain in May 1930, designed in an Atmospheric style by architect William Beresford Inglis. The theatre featured Spanish style castle turrets along the auditorium sidewalls.
The theatre closed in July 1960 and was demolished in 1962. Shops and offices now stand on the site.
