William Fraser Granger was born in Kingston, Surrey, In 20 January 1888. By the early 1920s he had qualified as an architect and by the mid-1920s was in partnership with Julian Rudolph Leathart as W F Granger & Julian Rudolph Leathart. The partnership was dissolved in 1935 and Granger then practised alone.

Granger was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1922 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1927.

From 1939 Granger resided in Bromley, Kent, and later in Worthing, Sussex. Granger died in Worthing in April 1969.
