Go behind the scenes of this National Historic Landmark, built by Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan, and view it as few do. Enjoy the radiant 24-karat gold-leafed ceiling arches, hundreds of Sullivan’s beautifully restored intricate stencil patterns, ornate gilded and bas-relief designs, and the endless floor and wall mosaics and murals by Charles Holloway and Albert Fleury.

The general tour schedule is: 2nd or 3rd Thursday of the month at 10:30am and 12:30pm, and 3rd or 4th Tuesday of the month at 10:30am and 12:30pm. Check the event website Link opens in new window for the latest schedule and availability. Tours last approximately 60 minutes and cost $15.

COVID-19 safety measures are in place during the tour. The theatre has increased cleaning efforts, including in high-touch areas like railings and elevator buttons. Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the building. Tours are for six people max per tour, and all patrons and tour guides must wear a mask covering the nose and mouth throughout the tour. All ticket holders and the tour guide must maintain 6 feet distance per household throughout the tour. Please arrive 10 minutes early to guarantee access. All tour ticket holders will be subject to a wellness check-in that includes a touch-less temperature check, plus a short verbal questionnaire. All Auditorium Theatre staff are subject to a wellness check before tours. Tickets will be scanned by Auditorium staff, but only ticket buyers may handle their print at home ticket, or phone. The Auditorium Theatre will refund any tour ticket if these guidelines are not followed, or if a patron or tour guide does not pass the wellness check.

The Los Angeles Conservancy Link opens in new window runs weekly tours of the Broadway Historic Theatre District. Subject to availability, the tour visits the interiors of one or more of the following theatres: Los Angeles Theatre, the United Theater on Broadway (formerly United Artists Theatre and The Theatre at Ace Hotel), Orpheum Theatre.

Access is not guaranteed to any theatres due to events programming and logistics on the day so call ahead for details if you are concerned.

Tours run every Saturday at 10am and last approximately 2.5 hours. Tickets $10.

Chicago Theatre Marquee Tour

Go on a history-filled journey, from the inception of this majestic venue in 1921, all the way to its present-day incarnation as a premiere entertainment venue. The Marquee Tour encompasses historical and architectural highlights of the building, including the grand lobby, sweeping staircase and majestic auditorium. Tour guests have the chance to stand on the famous Chicago Theatre stage, plus view artist signatures on the dressing room walls, including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Dolly Parton and so many more!

Tours run Fridays at 12pm and Saturdays at 12pm and 2pm. Duration approximately 60 mins. Please note tour content is subject to change based on events in the building and that some tours can take up to 75 mins. There is no stage or dressing room access on concert days.

Broadway In Chicago offers a public tour of our theatres every Saturday at 11am. Each tour visits two of our three theatres: the Nederlander (previously Oriental_ Theatre, the Cadillac Palace and the CIBC Theatre. The tour showcases the glittering vintage décor inspired by the foremost theatre designers of our time, who created through their designs in the French Renaissance styling. You will also learn about the cutting edge technology that makes each theatre the home to today’s most complex theatrical productions and the recent restorations that brought beauty and elegance back to these century-old theatres.

Tour is a thirty minute walking tour that includes several flights of stairs. Disabled guests can be easily accommodated, but please advise the theatre at the time of ticket purchase.

As of mid-2022, tours run twice a week: Tuesdays at 11am and Friday at 10am. Tours last approximately 1 hour 30 minutes and include some stairs. As of January 2022 pricing is $54 Adult and $49 Child (12 and younger).

Campus Tour

The Music Center Symphonians, who are voluntary docents for The Music Center, offers a 90-minute docent-led tour of The Music Center’s four theatres: Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum and Walt Disney Concert Hall.

You can learn about the history and architecture of each of the theatres along with Jerry Moss Plaza and hear about how each of those spaces are enriched with incredible arts experiences. Find out about artistic presentations by Center Theatre Group, the Los Angeles Master Chorale, LA Opera, LA Phil and TMC Arts, including the Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center dance residencies, concerts, arts learning experiences and free and low-cost events on Jerry Moss Plaza. View artwork from across the globe including sculptures, tapestries, paintings and antiques from the 17th century to the present.

Hear the stories collected through The Music Center’s nearly 60 years as the heart of Los Angeles County’s cultural life. Tours generally run every day however depend on visiting companies.

Go behind the scenes of the Showplace of the Nation! Take a guided tour of Radio City Music Hall, discover art deco masterpieces, learn the history of the iconic Great Stage and even meet a Radio City Rockette®*.

Tours run Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday to Saturday from 9:30am to 5pm, departing every half hour. The tour lasts approximately 60 minutes.

Advance tickets are available for purchase online through Ticketmaster, as well as in-person at the Box Office located on 6th Avenue at the corner of 50th Street. Tickets are available up to 1 hour prior to the start of the tour.

Tours will be closed on certain days due to performance requirements. Check the website for the most up-to-date information.

When an event is in progress there may be limited access to the seating area inside the Music Hall and the Hydraulics area. A Tribute to Julie Andrews

Julie Andrews will be the recipient of the 48th AFI Life Achievement Award, the highest honor for a career in film. Long considered one of the preeminent annual events for the entertainment and arts community, the AFI Life Achievement Award is a singular distinction bestowed upon artists “whose work has stood the test of time.”

The AFI Life Achievement Award has won Emmy® Awards across five decades in its 48-year run and will return for its eighth year with TNT, followed by encore presentations on sister network Turner Classic Movies (TCM).

Proceeds from the event not only further the mandate to honor artists and their work, they also support AFI’s preservation and education initiatives.

Poet, dramatist, writer and former Makar, Jackie Kay, joins The Lyceum for an evening exploring her writing and career in aid of the theatre. Bring your questions for the interactive Q&A session that will follow.

With a career spanning poetry, plays, children’s writing, short stories, prose and the novel, Kay is a star of Scottish literature – a true national treasure.

Jackie Kay was born and brought up in Scotland. She is the author of—among other books—The Adoption Papers, which won the Forward Prize, Red Dust Road, winner of the Scottish Book of the Year Award, Trumpet, and the Costa-shortlisted Fiere. She was the third Makar, or National Poet for Scotland (2016-2021). She is a Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Salford. Her new collection MAY DAY was published in 2024 to great acclaim.
